What are you hunting/fishing?

FINALLY! My son and I finally got to go out on hardwater and do some fishing. We caught about a hundred small perch with no keepers and 7 walleye with 1 keeper. It was just fun to get out!
ND Mike That looks great. Is your son getting the latest reports & weather with that telephone? Show him how to fry that Walleye up light, so he will have to catch another one!

lkrfletcher never been to Colorado, but my wife and I are planning a trip out there late summer or early fall. Just got our book in the mail a few weeks ago from the tourist dept. We are going to try and stay away from big cities. We are more back roads away from tons of people folks

YooperDog yep for sure. I can’t believe he is 12 already. He is our youngest but it seems like we just brought him home from the hospital not that long ago. Time sure does fly by!

Today wasn’t our day again, it was cold and there was a nice little breeze. There were ducks flying, just couldn’t get them interested in coming down into the spread. Then as we were packing up, ole green jeans stopped by, I am all legal so not worried. But it was funny when I showed him my bag of shot shells he had to move a couple of empty flasks!!!

HerbcoFood Sorry about the Blue Bird Day. Nice for hunting, but not much for bagging. I am glad all was in good order for Mr. Green Jeans too. I don’t use any antifreeze when hunting or fishing, you never know.

HerbcoFood I have dealt with a few of those Texas game wardens, always seemed pretty reasonable to me. I have dealt with some in other states whose attitude was you did something wrong I just haven’t caught you. I told one if there weren’t any hunters, he probably wouldn’t have a job.

HerbcoFood always good to get to know those guys. I have gotten to know a couple of game wardens over the years and when there is a problem, I know who I can call. They always will point you in the right direction, plus if you hunt in the areas they patrol, they will always remember who you are and how you were to them.

johnsbrewhouse Ran in to one in Kansas, after he was done checking all the licenses (I think there were about 10 hunters from 5 different states), he told us about some farmers who he thought would let us hunt their land. We had plenty of areas to hunt but I thought that was very nice of him.

So I went out on the hardwater today and caught one perch! It wasn’t even a keeper!!! Marked fish all day on the vexilar and they just didn’t want to cooperate today no matter what you threw at them! But Austin would be proud, this was my snack!
