lkrfletcher It is very good but I think the whitetail deer we shoot in MN are about as good. Also had a friend give me meat from an Oryx and that is very good too.

RON PARRISH there is an elk ranch in the New Paris, Ohio area. They sell vac sealed meat. Its kind if pricey, but it would give you a chance to try it if your up to the drive. I believe the name is Quiet Harmony Elk ranch.

Over the weekend I was practicing my fly-casting (beginner). Every cast I’d catch bluegill like this one and slightly bigger from my pond. No trophies here but at least I was catching something. I now know I have a thick breeding population of bluegill with no predatory fish in my pond. It’s a small pond so it’s going to be tough to manage but I think a handful of bass would do it some good.

RafterW The bass might help with the smaller bluegill but then they will move up to bigger ones unless you supply them with smaller fish.

Bass don’t do well in a small pond, they eat most of your small bluegills and move up as they get larger. I would suggest maybe a perch ( black) that would eat the smaller fish.
