Has anyone tried using dry ice pellets to keep me cold while grinding or mixing?

fishing Hmmm… Interesting idea. My concerns would be getting burned or splashing water on the ice. The meat may stick to the metal bowls, I wouldn’t use plastic lugs. It also will depend on your availability of getting and storing dry ice. If you give it a try let us know how it goes.

I worked for a major meat packing plant and they added dry ice pellets when they ground beef to kee it cool. this practice is approved by the USDA. It is safe for human consumption.

Dry ice when it “thaws” turns into CO2. it will kill you, if your room isn’t extremely well ventilated. be very careful.

There is food grade and non-food grades of dry ice. Dry ice is approved for use in ground meat. https://www.burtekdryice.com/meat-processing/#:~:text=Food grade dry ice is,beyond what is legally allowed).
