Collagen Casing Availability

Exploring the world of Snack Sticks… I noticed the following casings are available only in bulk:
15 mm Smoke Collagen Casings
17 mm Smoke Collagen Casings
18 mm Smoke Collagen Casings
These seem to be sweet spot size for Snack Sticks…Wondering why they are not offered in smaller quantities, more appealing to the home processor?
Are people buying these in bulk, doing group buys or just avoiding them?
PokeChop I am pretty sure the reasoning behind that, and the reason the 19MM Smoke are available in smaller quantities is because anything smaller than 19MM doesn’t work well with home processing equipment, specifically most home use stuffers, as the pressures required to stuff casing that small is tremendous.

I think Tex_77 pretty well nails the reason you see this.
A commercial operation has the equipment needed to stuff the pencil-thin sticks and would be buying casings in bulk quantities. -
I also agree with Tex_77. If you try to stuff 15mm casings (or much anything smaller than 19mm), you’ll find yourself in quite a situation with home processing equipment. Either you will be cranking so hard that you might actually damage your equipment or you will be adding so much water that it’ll hardly be worth it. Either way, you’ll be right back on here asking what happened.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I’m confident I’ll be smiling, thinking of what you said, when I try my first batch of Snack Sticks. After watching the Meatgistics University videos, I was thinking 16mm casings and a 10mm or 12mm horn was doable… maybe not

PokeChop Yes, we might/probably are going to be increasing the # of options for collagen casings that are available in smaller packs. That will probably be a 3 pack. So, we have 16 and 19 in smoke. What would people rather see, the 17 or 18 in a 3 pack?

I love the 16mm. As long as you keep them in 3 pack I will be happy.
