The cancer returned to our cat & he died today with too much fluid on his lungs. He fought hard, but just could not take it anymore. I may have to have three more! I am not sure we are going to take on any more animals now though, as it seems for about the last 20-25 years we have lost most all of them to cancer, that I used to rarely see in animals other than chickens & one bull & now we see it all the time & on ours as well.

calldoctoday sorry to hear about your cat. Animals have a way of becoming a special part of the family. The cancer in animals does seem to be more prevalent than in the past. Hang in there and remember those good times.

Beer: anything from Treehouse, Trillium, and just about any craft lager. Booze; I’m a big bourbon guy. Bulleit, makers Mark, basil Hayden‘s Elijah Craig all great. cocktail I’d go bulleit rye Manhattan or a jack and coke.

Surg Julius is great! My favorite is Haze or very Haze. I actually don’t think I’ve ever had a bad beer from treehouse. I’m in southern New Hampshire and it’s still hard for me to get the beer. luckily they just bought a country club half hour south of me so It should get much easier.

glen Thank you, we really appreciate that. Yes, they can really be amazing & surprise you at times. I know we had one little good dog for nearly 20 years & she just kept on ticking, through one thing after the other & would never give up, until something happened at the very end that did her in. She was amazing. Even Gato amazed us by surviving his leg amputation & still being so active. My wife said they warned us when they did the surgery (I was probably working) that he might not last six months before the cancer returned, yet he kept on for over 2 years until this lung fluid in this hot humid weather got him. They can be very resilient & I have known a number of people that were the same. I know my Mom was told she had six months & then she survived over 10 more years, happily & not on a bunch of medications, even thinking she had whipped it, before it returned & they gave her 30 days & she was gone in two weeks. You just never know. Hang in there with little Mitzi.

calldoctoday Sorry to hear my friend, it tough to take. Been down that road many a time. The wife is telling me we need another dog now to go with the one remaining after losing his sister. I’m just not ready and our boy is adjusting pretty well to the solitary life right now. Of course that will be short lived, my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, along with their two dogs are moving in for a couple of months this weekend until their new house gets finished. Their old house sold to fast.

johnsbrewhouse Thank you John, I really appreciate it. Yes, I understand. Someone already dropped off another kitten & he is already adjusting. One of my son’s is trying to get us to take a German Shepherd from their neighbor. She is not a healer as we usually get, but she looks sweet. I am not sure though why someone would want to try to give their 4 year old dog away to someone else. We are just not sure we are ready yet after two heavy losses in a short period of time. Both involving cancer. Gatto the Ginger Cat was only about five & Duke the Healer was only about 14, so we are not sure what to say.
