Kansas Tourism: The Smoke Show

The Kansas Department of Commerce I guess has decided it time to start promoting barbecue in Kansas. I will say that I am highly disappointed that Billy Sims BBQ was included in this. Now for my Billy Sims rant, the food is terrible, it is a chain restaurant, and the names sake is a former OU football player. There are far better BBQ places in Kansas that should have been included in this over Billy Sims.

Wichita has a great BBQ place: B and C. I don’t know if he is a pit master but there is nothing on the menu i wouldn’t eat and recommend. BBQ is so subjective, what is the base for the sauce. B and C does not put any sauce on the ribs and they are so good. I have gone to great bbq joints and all the sides could not suck more if they had tried, its the whole plate for me. I try to eat bbq when I am on the road and have often been pleased ( I stay away from any chains)

Departing Contestant that is always a great idea, we actually did that a week ago! We had talked about going to Bill’s Charcoal Bar next go round, but I wouldn’t be opposed to B&C maybe just take Austin and his dad, Jonathon probably needs to stick around so he can steer the ship!

Departing Contestant B&C is as good as any in Wichita in my opinion.
The ribs are my wife’s favorite by far
Brisket, pulled pork, chicken all good

Tex_77 Was there before covid. We remember not being very pleased
I had a very average link and Jeaninne had ribs
The place gets good reviews though and I must admit we are pretty though on restaurants , especially her LOLGive a man a fish and he eats for a day
