I have heard that it was a time reference initially. Ski lifts usually close at 4 and then the ski lift operators would need 20 minutes to get to their spots where they could smoke in private together. No clue if it is true or not and it is now pretty common, we even see job listings that will say 4-20 friendly to let applicants know that they don’t drug test for Marijuana.

It is an interesting ingredient list but the chips are the only one that are truly odd. Going to get soggy no matter what you do.

When you have the munchies, no one cares if the chips are soggy.

The most common reference I see is that in the 70’s the students at some California High School would meet at 4:20 after school each day to smoke and it grew over the years.
However every reference I’ve seen admits all explanations are unsubstantiated
Actually a very big day among users and as we see it is becoming more and more commercialized
Who knows, in a few years it may become a national holiday LOL

Not sure of the location (school or ski) but it did originally refer to time. Since then anything that has 420 in it is used as a reason to light up 🙂 Cant do it myself cause of my CDL license.

Tex_77 Happy Birthday. As far as the dope smokers, let’s face the facts here, they smoke the other 364 days of the year as well. So do they really need a special day?

GWG8541 as we all have happy new years day, I think smokers use 420 (a day they remember) to keep track of the year.

All jokes aside - cannabis is far far far less damaging than highly accepted alcohol.

Jamieson22 depends on who you ask, I’ve heard many negative long term affects from cannabis as well as alcohol. Depends on the person and how much use is contributed with both
