What are you hunting/fishing?

cdavis that is for sure. That’s a good buck too! We still have many with antlers right now. A lot of the little guys seem to retain them pretty late up here.
ND Mike yep about the same here. I’m seeing several now with just one side.

calldoctoday thanks
cdavis You are very welcome, I wish I could say more, just really nice, good, detailed work.

Headed to Kingman State Lake here in Kansas to try to get a pike or two caught. KDWP stocks pike in that lake with some fish confirmed at 32" in length.

RafterW I wish you luck! Get a biggun!

Picked up a new rod for stream and small lake fishing. Primarily targeting trout and panfish with this rod. It is called a Tenkara rod and telescopes down into itself. It extends to 11.5’ and a 10.5’ line is attached to the end with 2’ of leader/Tippett. This is a reel-less fly fishing setup, which is highly portable and lightweight.

The first weekend in June I am going on a 3 day fishing trip to the Chandeleur Islands on the coast of Louisiana. With the liberal limits on fish in Louisiana I should be good on fish for the rest of the year.

RafterW Who stocks pike??? We have an abundance here. We are taking hammer handles out and limited to one 24+" a day. Let the pickling begin

RafterW Nice rod. I have been looking for something that I can pack up when I am out on two wheels

YooperDog Love pickled pike, we used to catch them and my Dad would pickle them. He thought the hammer handles were best for that.

YooperDog I don’t believe pike’s native range includes kansas, at least not south central kansas…maybe up north.

YooperDog TenkaraUSA is where I picked that rod up. There is a kid on youtube who fishes with that style of rod, he peaked my interest. I’ve got a fly rod but just struggle with adding line and casting, this is supposed to be more intuitive to learn. TenkaraAddict is the channel on youtube, I believe.

LOL. Still have the 202 in a cabinet somewhere. All I used as a kid. A quick search say’s they still make it. Unreal.

PapaSop All I used growing up until I was about out of high school with Zebco 33 and 733. I hauled a lot of pounds of catfish and bass in with them. They sure don’t make them like they use to.

PapaSop I still have my Popeil Pocket fisherman, used it for jigging through the ice.
