I thought some of yall would like to see this buck I just finished mounting for a local guy. He had it green scored at 203 and 5/8 inches. It was an impressive set of antlers to work with. 20220129_190718.jpg

cdavis Nice looking detail work, showing a lot of detail of the live animal in your craft there.

ND Mike my neighbor arrowed this buck on January 12th. Needless to say you need to be careful how you handle those late season antlers. He drug him about 80 yards to where he could drive to him. It came off in his hand loading him in the truck. 8E5C97E6-.jpg
I’ve got him fixed up now.

cdavis that is for sure. That’s a good buck too! We still have many with antlers right now. A lot of the little guys seem to retain them pretty late up here.

bocephus that hasn’t always been the case. But in the last 15 years they have been getting bigger and bigger. Our deer herd is now the best it’s ever been. I just hope the diseases stay away.

Headed to Kingman State Lake here in Kansas to try to get a pike or two caught. KDWP stocks pike in that lake with some fish confirmed at 32" in length.

Picked up a new rod for stream and small lake fishing. Primarily targeting trout and panfish with this rod. It is called a Tenkara rod and telescopes down into itself. It extends to 11.5’ and a 10.5’ line is attached to the end with 2’ of leader/Tippett. This is a reel-less fly fishing setup, which is highly portable and lightweight.

The first weekend in June I am going on a 3 day fishing trip to the Chandeleur Islands on the coast of Louisiana. With the liberal limits on fish in Louisiana I should be good on fish for the rest of the year.

Headed to Oklahoma in April with my son. Hoping to bring home another 4 hogs. Lots of brawts and breakfast sausage being made after that.

YooperDog Love pickled pike, we used to catch them and my Dad would pickle them. He thought the hammer handles were best for that.
