Well, twilliams post on “A few things in the works” gave me to the push to post this which I figured maybe was too off-topic. Finally hit that age where a 20+ year dream of ownership became a reality.
1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 with 147k miles on it. Picked up in Nov. Getting harder and harder to find clean versions of these and the prices reflect that. Should have jumped on one years ago.
Jamieson22 Man, that thing is really clean. Original paint & interior? You are so right though, I’ve never seen one that old and that clean. Congrats on the new addition to your family!

It seems like it likely had a respray at some point in past but rest is original. It is still original color as sold new though.
I found email of owner prior to person I bought from and reached out. They had it for 10 years, put 5k miles on it, garage kept , and did no body/paint work on it. Just small repairs on things as needed. Even sent me the listing pictures from when he bought it.
Owner I bought from had it serviced at a Cruiser shop, knuckles rebuilt, 2-3" OME lift, 33" KO2s, and White Knuckle rock sliders added. All stuff I’d have wanted to do if I found a bone-stock one.
Now I am just waiting for weather to clear to have the transmission rebuilt. Joy of an old truck…

Jamieson22 That’s what happens when you skim read and don’t retain. At 35 years it looks even better. That was made three years before the Camry we still drive and three years after my Bronco was made. Here’s a picture of my pony, I’ve owned it since 1990.

Jamieson22 thats in really nice shape. Looks like a fun ride! I’m looking for a Dodge Ramcharger or Plymouth Trail Duster but most of them are beat to death!

My toy I sold a couple years ago to buy a new truck(f250)
was a 65 mustang fastback, and my other one that I still have is a 36 chevy truck.

johnsbrewhouse I miss the car, but I worked hard to be totally debt free by the age of 40. We needed a new truck and didn’t want to borrow the money. Might have been a mistake

kyle We all have those things we give up to achieve our dreams. One day you’ll own another. That’s where I am with my Bronco, I sat for twenty years before I started back working on it. I still have thoughts of selling it since I can get more money for it than I paid for it. I did that with my 1979 DT 175 I bought brand new, sold it a couple years ago for twice as much as I paid for it.

My Dad had one about like that when we lived on the farm & even as a little kid I was upset when he got rid of it for a new one. I went ahead & pretty much gave my old Jeep away last year as it just got where I did not have the proper time for it & the proper place to keep it & there was a young guy that had been just about begging me for it for years & had much better resources & energy to keep up with it. I am loosing little slivers a little at a time.

calldoctoday I still have the truck, I only sold the mustang. The truck I got from a buddys wife after he passed away. It had been in their family since almost new. The stories and memory of my buddy would make it hard for me to get rid of
