Look at you making a special post about my return. Thank you so much for that! I will be back in short spurts and will participate as much as I can. Unfortunately I don’t have clearance to cook yet so don’t be in a hurry to look for recipes and creations for “What did you cook today”

Dr_Pain lol… I think we all understand. Slow and easy is probably gonna be the key until you get fully back on your feet. This group isn’t going anywhere. We are all just here for the ride.

Dr_Pain Keep it up! You are a young man that is just experiencing one of life’s little bumps in the road.
Trust me I have no idea where your latested travels have led you but, some of us have endured too.Dad told me once that I learned so well,
“Son, just take a look at the man in the bed next to you,
He may have never felt the pain of a paper cut to the finger before BUT it is the worst pain that he has ever endured!”He taught me to realize that, whatever the level of your pain is, it is no less and no greater than maybe he who might have shared you room.
With that said I was in a private room and got moved to multi bed room some 45 years ago.
I am no stranger to the local wards of our hospitals. Dr_Pain get well my friend!! pm or email me if you wish to talk.

Relative perspectives is what allowed me to move forward while walking the hallways at the hospital. Each step was tougher than the last one but at least I was not bed bound. Each breath was more difficult than the last one but at least I was not on a ventilator. Mentally the battle was definitely uphill but I was alive to fight it
I am slowly improving, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to say it. I am BLESSED!

Dr_Pain the biggest thing that I learned on getting out of a hospital was get on you feet and walk! Push yourself but stay within your safe boundaries. Walk farther, walk faster, walk keeping more up-right, walk stepping out, Walk!
First steps might be to the door and back, then down/up the stairs, then just outside, then the end of the driveway, then down the street a few houses, you get it.
Just keep your spirits up! Keep your head up literally and be thankful.

Stay on the mend my friend!@dennyo I cannot speak of Dr. Pain’s particular situation, but I can vouch for your comments 110% for back surgeries and fast recovery from them.

I’ve had 2 of them and need the third (long large cage). I’ve had more surgeries than mayb 6 or more of have had all put together. 19 to date, that does not take into account procedures. These were all under anesthesia and major surgeries.

@dennyo You have me beat. I’m in need of the 2nd fusion at L4-5, have had 2 back surgeries, 2 knee replacements, 1 knee repair, 1 shoulder repair, gastric sleeve. Been holding out on the back, need to have a hiatal hernia and another abdominal hernia repaired too, but after all the Covid is done. My digestive issues could be related to the one hernia and are flaring now. They haven’t been able to figure that source out for 3 years so I live with it just like the back. I sucks getting old and worn out. Good thing for working with meat!

johnsbrewhouse Hope you get everything straightened out, glad I don’t have all those issues. Maybe a hip replacement in the future but hopefully distant future.

bocephus We pay for everything we did in our younger years we enjoyed. We were are supermen in our youth, working on vehicles and equipment all my life took it tolls, but I loved it. I have learned to live with the issues through my hobbies to take it off my mind as much as possible.

johnsbrewhouse I can tell when the rain is coming with my knees. Too much fun playing football in high school and college but I wouldn’t change a thing.

bocephus It doesn’t change with steel knees either, the tendons and muscles still act as a barometer.
