bocephus yea all night time pictures so far but they have started staying till almost daylight. So I’m hoping that 1 of them will just start staying a little bit longer. It’s still nice to know that they are in the area.

cdavis We have a couple of nice ones showing up at night also, hoping they will come by during the day in a month and a half. We are starting to see more does during the day as temps cool.

YooperDog I had a couple more nice bucks show up in the last few days. Hopefully 1 of them will be hanging vertically in a few more days. 20210924_124710.jpg 20210924_124945.jpg 20210924_125229.jpg 20210924_130531.jpg

cdavis I thought some of yall might enjoy seeing this. I just finished mounting one of my bow kills from last year. It’s called a pack out mount. I put it on a pack frame like you would pack one out from a remote area. 20210922_111256.jpg 20210922_111320.jpg

cdavis for some reason I just can’t get into the pack mounts. Yours is the first one I have seen with the blanket and old style canteen. Pretty cool. Do you know what forms you use? I have not seen them with that kind of muscular detail. Or does your taxidermist sculpture the form more from the factory to get that detail?

I plan on hunting some good central Illinois, corn fed whitetails in Nov. I only shotgun hunt, as i dont have the time for archery. I prefer does to bucks as i just want some good venison for snack sticks. I already have my trophy buck. See my profile pic. 🙂

twilliams the form is called a stubby. I do taxidermy for a hobby. I mount 40 to 50 heads a year. I use all Dan Chase forms. To show any detail you have to rework the forms. I do it to all my mounts. I like the detail and so do my customers .I think it’s worth the extra work. 20160430_150924.jpg 20160430_150838.jpg
