Drink of Choice

This week has sucked. We had to say goodbye to our dog on Tuesday. Second one in 3 years. I’ve been wanting to drink since Monday but I needed to be “there” for the family. Tomorrow I start back on the all work all the time thing so tonight is my chance. I found a use for an old beaker (don’t ask) and some oak kindling… of course it rained all day yesterday so I couldn’t get as much smoke as I wanted. Maybe the second or fourth glass…

badfire2625 Hang in there, there’s a high pressure system on the horizon.

zbigjeff I completely agree. In fact, I was emailing with Jon about something else and we talked about it. I needed that so much. I was so busy being strong for the wife and kids that I wasn’t able to even talk about it for myself.
That said 13 years ago we were at a bowling fundraiser for Animal Friends when they brought this girl around for everyone to see. My first words were where do I sign. My second were when can I pick her up. I think it’s pretty obvious from my expression that it was love at first sight…

badfire2625 There are many times when we all need to stop and just realize what we have/had and feel blessed. Losing a furry or human friend is tough if that relationship meant something. We’re with you. Try and have a good rest of your day.

badfire2625 Always a very tough day. I have been through it a few times and it never gets easy and it shouldn’t. They have a special place in our lives. Eventually the hurt will ease and all the good memories will take over.

badfire2625 One night my wife and I did a stay cation at the big hotel in downtown Houston. We had gone to an Astros game and since all I had to do was walk 2 city blocks to get back to the hotel someone, maybe me, got really ripped at the game. Also that night a rockets game just ended and there was a convention going on as well. This hotel is in a prime location for all three buildings for people to converge. They were making smoked old fashion’s like no bodies business. The hotel lobby is huge, very open and at least 30’ ceilings. After a few hours of cranking them out it looked like a snoop dog concert. I about lost my cookies from the smell of the smoke. So naturally now I have an adverse affect when I smell those being made.

Alcohol induced gastric memories…Don’t get me started on my traumatic Southern Comfort experience.

HerbcoFood I wonder if they had made those smoked old fashion with some product containing THC if it would have had the same reaction. “Mary-J” is a known antiemetic (helps with nausea and vomiting in cancer patients) . Nevertheless this would definitely have settled the Snoop Dog moniker you put on the experience LOL!

Dr_Pain Now, that’s a very good point doctor. Thinking that would cure HerbcoFood of the willies. But, it also might increase his sudden urge for hot chicken wings. I’ve lightly looked at the cocktail smokers and this just might turn up my urge to obtain.

badfire2625 my thoughts are with you. The pain of losing my Moxie dog is still very very fresh…especially as pheasant season approaches.

I think I am going to pour a Weston Blueberry Vodka on the rocks and since it’s a tad too sweet I am going to cut it with regular Weston Vodka.

badfire2625 I understand where you are coming from. We lost three dogs over three years and it wasn’t any easier to get over the first to the last. We went almost two years trying to decide whether we wanted to get another. Well fate is a fickle suka (Polish word rhymes with itch). This is my new hunting buddy, 14 week old Spinone.

It is our 17th wedding anniversary. We had to attend a baby shower and now we stopped into the local watering hole. I have a feeling we may drink our supper…hahahaha!

Happy Anniversary ND Mike !
I am at a loss as to what you are drinking there? -

ND Mike Must be a local brew. never heard of it. Plus, drinking your supper couldn’t be bad.

Well, green olives are quite nutritious.
-
Redbridge, Looks like an A-B product. Gluten free sorgum beer.
I have never had beer with olives before.

zbigjeff Redbridge is a gluten free beer made by Anheuser Busch. I have celiac disease so I have to be gluten free.

processhead I was just going to tell you that. I’m drinking Redbridge due to having celiac disease and the wife is drinking tap veer with olives. She drinks it all the time. I call it a lava lamp beer as sometimes the olives float up and down.
