Fell off the map
-
calldoctoday I am glad its not just me. It was real slow, but loaded. I looked all over the US and couldn’t find myself…I was worried I was lost! I find it much more enjoyable looking at a bigger screen then on a phone
kyle I’m gone too. It is real slow loading, there are others missing as well that I know of. I must have slipped off into the Pacific.

johnsbrewhouse never thought of that, maybe i’m at the bottom of Lake Superior.

I too am no longer on the map!

While looking for everyone that apparently fell off the map, did you notice the few odd observations. There are several places where there are multiple folks in one small location, but no matter how much you zoom in, it still only shows the number (not when the first digit of their handle is a number). then if you look closely, many of those seem to be located in a post office, a govt. building, a park, etc. & not what you would typically thinks as a residential address. Are the markers actually going to where a service provider is located or something?

If it is IP based, I might most likely show up in IL most of the time because of the network I am on.
I was born in IL and lived there for over 30 years and after getting out this is how I feel:

kyle It is not just more enjoyable, you can see it all, a little clearer, even if you have to use the computer glasses. I cannot even begin to try to see al that stuff on the telephones. The sad thing is, it seems like a lot of folks out there are now making it where if you are not doing it on a telephone, you will just not be doing it. That is sad, because there seems to be this consensus in many places that doing everything on the telephone is what everyone & I mean everyone does any more. Don’t’ get me started on the subject of everyone, with all due respect to everyone.

Hey everyone, I am looking into the issue… I don’t see anything specific yet, but there does seem to be some weird things happening I’m still tracking down.
Just so everyone knows how we get a location, we don’t lookup based on IP address or any other “creepy” method. There is a form field when you edit your profile for location. You can put in just a city/state or put a full address. Any address or location information you put here will get geocoded and inserted into the map.

Austin Thanks Austin, if not just out of curiosity, I wonder about it all. You should not be burning that Midnight Oil so much though.

Austin thanks for looking into this. Just so you know, many of us were already on the map, and without changing anything in my settings, I’m gone. My location of Foxboro, Wi is still in my location box and I tried to resave and it still don’t work.

Austin Same thing happened to me as Kyle, now you see me, now you don’t. If it is just team orange people I would do an investigation into Jonathan!

bocephus I was looking for a commonality between users it was happening to, and I did investigate to see if some Team Blue jackwagon (cough Jonathon) was messing with things, but I have cleared them of all charges. Team Blue is actually innocent and Jonathon had nothing to do with it. I have not found any correlations yet between users it is affecting.

Austin Sounds like someone in the background linked the location data to an older version when they republished the website. Also, maybe someone in the background put a limit on the objects to be shown. Just some added info: Map info on the Meatgistics app comes up. But, with less than the whole. The Maps link on the Meatgistics PC login (meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic… etc url) does not stay “up”. It flashes a page. Then, reverts back to the previous page a user was on. Now, it’s back. See below. Good luck!

Austin hahaha! I love the term jack wagon!

Austin I also checked my location and Bismarck ND was still listed. I did re-save and I am still not on the map so who knows? Maybe it doesn’t like that I’m in a flyover State…lol!

It’s still broken, I put my full address in and saved it and still have fallen from existence on the map. I even checked Hawaii thinking I had flown back to my other home.

Austin I would go as far as saying team Blue is innocent with that leader!
