My Appeal to Walton

That "F " word again… Argh

wow, there’s a coal that was left smoldering then suddenly sparked and caught fire. Crazy things about forums, they never die
Departing Contestant Sometimes the issue at hand is never addressed and is still an issue. Meatgistics is a place that we can safely state things and it’s okay for us to agree or disagree, but we are not going to censor things. We respece each other.
We, as a group, we like meat, meat processing, gardening, cooking, and the list goes on and on. We accept the prespectives of those that are vegan, and while not necessarily agreeing with their their position, we respect it.
I, for one, do not appreciate being censored for my values, opinions, or positions. My original post was not political, but rather a defence of Meatgistics and Waltons. Can you immagine a site like facebook, twitter, whatever censoring us becauce we like meat. This is not an unrealistic fear, we should all see what is happening around the world.
Too many of the Meatgistics family have fought and given much to insure our opinion not be censored. I only posted the original posting to respect them and encourage all of us to realize just what is taken place in America.

PapaSop And I agree, we are a community that I am proud to be part of.

So, interestingly I was looking through this because I was looking for a comment I saw this weekend about someone losing their order history and I was going to see if I could help with that but I got caught up by an older comment by ND Mike where he said Meatgistics has become is preferred social media. I have spent a LOT of time recently thinking about that, Austin was smart enough to know that the content couldn’t live without the community and the community wouldn’t have formed without the content. I honestly thoguth of the community as a fun thing that we could occasionally post on, in the last few years that has changed and the community has grown and grown. It has without a doubt been one of the most rewarding parts of my professional career.
And, if anyone knows the post I am talking about let me know! Actually I think I just figured it out. Sorry guys, Saturday was a long day and the wife and I surprisgnly drank once we got home from the event as well so things are…a bit hazy!

This is weird, was kind of thinking the same thing today when I logged on. I usually check in every day but missed yesterday. Typical day is, giveaway page, enter and go to Meatgistics’s to check the unread. Today was a record, at least on my end. 38 unread… In just 24 hours… Wow! Nearly four years ago it was three or four.
From what Austin envisioned, and what Jonathon and crew have done to take this to the next level is incredible.
Community strong!
Sorry… Couldn’t find a gray hat. LOLGlad to be a part of.

PapaSop Yes, I think there have indeed been a number of records set here lately! Amazing.

Jonathon I don’t even know if social media is the right word really. This place is more of a Brotherhood. I really enjoy the banter and the the fact that everyone is quick to help each other! I think this experiment called Meatgistics can be called a huge success!!!

ND Mike funny thing is I talk about you guys to other people, and they think your people who live around me or work with me. I say no, I met them on a meat site and now they are my friends, and not like friends on the fb.

kyle Same here, and people are amazed when I tell them everyone is always willing to help.

Chef Meatgistics is a wonderful oasis far away from the maddening crowds (though closer to a ew mad “meatheads” than is comfortable. While I respect your opinions on *acebook (happy now PapaSop ) and Twitter. I was merely commenting on the tendency for old posts to rekindle and burn without prompt.
It was only an observation not a rebuttal. i am sorry for any aggravation it may have caused. PAX -

The one thing I do have is many opinions. LOL And really, I do keep most to myself.
Truth is, we should all be proud to stand up for our opinions, values, and beliefs. No one should every be shamed because of what they believe. Maybe our society would be in a better place if people were willing to stand up for what they believe.
Hope this doesn’t cause anyone to choose to be offended.

kyle I agree. I now have several people on Meatgistics that I have a great relationship with. We share things, give and receive gifts, and I believe are stronger relationships then neighbors around me.
This is the greatest group of people. I know there are different opinions, but here they seem to be respected.
Differences are not a reason to hate, they are opportunities to grow in perspectives and as a person.

I am on a sight on Facebook about homemade deer stands, usually a pretty informative group but there was one person on the sight who was always critical of just about any of the stands talked about or pictured, standard comment was why not just hunt from your couch. Not sure why he was on the sight other than put out negative comments, this is the problem with Facebook. I am also on some home processing sights and I almost always try to help with answers but also recommend them to this sight because of all the great people who are always willing to help without being critical.

bocephus I am sure there are a few good things on FB, I however refuse to go on there. I have never had an account and chances are never will. I think its way too political, way too much gossip, and is a platform for people to make hate. Too many people I know take what they read there as the 100% truth. I have my opinions on many things, I am sure some are different then yours, but I like this site and the people here way to much to start an argument. Its funny how much respect you can have for people you never met.
