Well said. Remember to spend a little extra time with your dads if they are still with you, They wont be around for ever and it sure sucks when they are gone. Happy fathers day every one
kyle You’re so right. My children are in their 50’s. Yep, I’ll disappear but the Dad stories they brag about will be with them for a long time to come. Never too late to do something special with or for them. You get old too soon and smart too late.

JoeB there is nothing like a good dad story. Now that mine is gone, I find myself saying more and more…my dad said, or I remember when dad and I. I hope my son thinks of me what I thought of my dad

Chef Thanks, today is bittersweet. It the first Father’s Day since my Dad passed last August. I miss him every day, but today is a hard one in that regard. I am lucky enough to spend the day with my wife, one of my sons, and my wifes parents. Take advantage of every moment given to you with your loved ones. Happy Father’s Day to all you dads.

GWG8541 I know what you mean. While it’s been years, I miss my father and grandfather very much. Taught me so many things. When I’m doing some project, I often remember the time one of the two of them taught me that skill.

@dennyo Those were men of Honor. Maybe if we had taught our children more history and what sacrifices were made to keep our freedom and our country strong, we wouldn’t be having near the issues we are having in our country.

My dad could have been and should have been an Admiral, seems he was getting promoted a lot LOL!

I say that because the most I could get out of my Dad about his time in the Navy during WW11 was a conversation between Dad and his captain was “Affield, I don’ts likes ya attitude! To the Brig Ya go!”
As many times as he was demoted it seems he was promoted. He drove the Cap-e-tians personal boat and seems to have been his favorite.Anyway, that is about as much as I could ever get out of him with a couple of other stories while driving a LCM in the Navy.

PapaSop one of my daughters and grand baby got me this, incorporated all the grand babies in it
And my other daughter and 3 grand babies got me another tshirt that says “reel cool grandpa” with a fish on it.
