Drink of Choice

I finally scored a couple bottles of Weller Antique and special Reserve. Persistence pays off!
Joe Hell Both are good pours of wheated bourbons. The Antique has a bit more punch. But, still very good. Yay for you.

A couple of Irish Coffees, dressed up with whipped cream and Hersheys Special Dark chocolate syrup. Just getting warmed up for the 17th.

My drink of choice is Bells Scotch whiskey with milk as a mix. The milk brings out that nice smooth lovely flavor. We don’t get that brand here in NZ though, so I basically stop drinking whiskey, however, the other day I really wanted a good shot of whiskey and then decided to try American bourbon. I looked at the different bourbon they had on the shelve, and ended up getting a bottle of Jim Beam and how super surprised I was with my choice! It really tasted smooth and good. I am not a regular user of alcohol, but the bottle of Jimmies just disappear in no time. I buy NZ brewed bear called Tui, I do not like the European beers at all. Here you can easily get your own brewer license and start brewing, we have two breweries just down the road and a bit further many more! But beer of these kind are very expensive. When I use to visit my daughter in Paarl where she is a wine maker, I would always buy a bottle of Amarula and bring it back here in NZ.

magician176 The Amarula liquor sounds interesting because I’ve never had the “amarula” fruit. But, always want to try new things. If you like “Scotch” with milk, there’s many types of bottles that are made with Bourbon and Cream. I tried one and then mixed it for myself out of the arsenal of bourbons on the shelf. Low and behold, it was just as good. It’s a nice change from always drinking Bourbon “neat” or with one ice cube. I do find the bottle disappears faster if I combine it with the cream. LOL. Glad to have another viewpoint on the other side of the world. Yay for US in the USA. You’ll find this group very knowledgeable with the meats. But, it’s what they do just as good is sip the “whiskey” while watching their BBQ pits do their thing. Welcome to this site.

magician176 That all sounds pretty amazing, especially your daughter being a wine maker. I am sure you are very proud of her.

calldoctoday Yeah, very proud of her. These days an old coot like me, I try to stay out of her way, I feel I might embarrass her because I am so darn old, she and her hubby is pretty young and so are all her friends mostly.

magician176 Oh, I doubt that. She is likely just as proud of you. I reduce my photos to 60% in the edit mode before uploading & it seems to work most every time. Try that & see how it works. Hopefully that is all it is.

Edit: Never mind, looks like you figured that out. Never underestimate a Kiwi!

My daughter and her hubbymagician176 As others have said “You should be proud”. I think she would say “Dad, don’t be ridiculous. It’s OK to bug me for a short bit.”
It appears both of you are just having “FUN”. Go for it. P.S. calldoctoday was spot on. jpg files are the way to go. System does not like png files. -
Bought a bottle of Amarula on a cruise once, very good and creamy
