Grinder Storage and Transportation

I need some ideas and recommendations on ways to store and transport a #12 meat grinder.
I occasionally borrow this meat grinder from my in-laws. I disassemble and carry the throat, auger, knives, etc in a 5 gallon bucket and muscle the motor unit. Tricky to handle as it has no handle or easy way to pick up off of a flat surface.
I have read your posts about hauling your grinders to deer camp. I also assume that I am not the only one without a dedicated meat processing area.
Ideally, I would like to add handles for lifting and carrying and some sort of dust cover.
I would greatly appreciate any pics or advice. Thanks -
I cant help with the carrying of it but you can put the head assembly in a trash bag to keep the dust off of it and keep it ready to use

We had a heavy buffalo chopper/ grinder combo unit that probably weighed in excess of 100 lbs. We needed to shuttle it around so I bolted it on to a piece of 3/4 plywood with a 2x4 frame under it. The frame had castors so it could be rolled around on a smooth floor. I put four metal handles on each corner so 2 guys could get a good grip on it to pick it up and load it in a vehicle.

Heavy Duty Plastic tote might work.

As for transportation, im going with a plastic tote.

processhead i estimate the motor unit weighs around 50# or so

Installing a good carry handle would really help with moving a lot.

Utility carts on wheels are just great. I have 4 and I could easily use four more.

PapaSop That looks like the one I have. I bought 2 0f the smaller 30x18" red ones to only find out my #22 carnivore and mixer attached is like 35" long. Ugh. Had to go get the 36x24 one to fit my beast. Fits perfect but takes up a lot of space. My wife wants it out of her kitchen! Still waiting for this snow to melt so I can take it to the pole barn.
The smaller red one’s will fit the #12 grinder and lugs. So they will get used. cant beat the price from Harbor Junk store. -
@Jay-Fleck Leave everything in the head, so auger, plate and knife are on it. Less chance for them to bang around and get dinged up. Handles on grinders seem like a pointless add on until you need to move it!

Thankfully I have a spare room. Yep, Harbor Freight, can’t beat it.
