Peanut butter and Jelly and Hot Dog!

In this segment we take big swings at recipes that could either be amazing or disgusting! Today we are taking a classic and putting a new spin on it, get ready for Peanutter, Jelly and Hotdog!

    Prep Time

    0 Minutes

    Cook Time

    10 Minutes

    Ingredients

    Hot Dogs
    Hotdog Buns
    Peanut Butter
    Jelly

Nutrition Information for Hot Dog, Bun and on serving of Peanut Butter and Jelly

480 calories 39 grams fat 16 grams protein 25 grams carbohydrate 1 Hot Dog and Bun with PEanut Butter and Jelly

    Utensils Needed

Meat Grinder (if you are making hotdogs yourself)
Sausage Stuffer (if you are making hotdogs yourself)
    Grill/Smoker or Oven

    Instructions

Follow instructions for How to make Hotdogs(https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/180/how-to-make-homemade-hot-dogs-recipe). Grill hotdogs until they reach the desired level of doneness. Some heat from the hotdog will slightly melt the Peanut Butter and Jelly. Spread the desired amount of Peanut Butter and Jelly on either side of the bun.

    Disaster rating:

If you watch the video you can see it on my face (and the words I was saying!) that this was going to be a huge disaster in my mind. It is the exact and complete opposite! The sweetness of the jelly and the creaminess of the peanut butter makes the hot dog even better. I’m really crazily surprised by this and Patrick agreed with me. I recommend everyone tries this at least once in your life!

Jonathon I’ve been catching up on old episodes and this one stuck in my mind. Of course, I didn’t have any of my home made hot dogs left. I was also out of hot dog buns, so, rather than not havin’ none until I got buns… Oh never mind. White bread was an able fill in. I added some fried up bacon ends from a batch I made a while ago. Oh, and there might have been some alcohol involved…

Not bad at all. I was a little surprised, even though I saw your faces.

PS That song is in your collective head. Isn’t it?

PapaSop LOL. No. A Little Vodka and OJ followed up with a nice IPA or three… I saw their faces on Recipe for Disaster and was still surprised at how well it worked…

PapaSop Yeah. I can’t do regular beer. I used to drink MGD exclusively. I had to start drinking tequila because the MGD was giving me a headache and stomach issues… Yeah. Go figure. I can do Guinness and citrusy IPAs as far as beer goes. I just can’t drink many of them.

badfire2625 That one was really surprising, we were sure it was going to be terrible but it was actually really good, the tastes all sort of go together! @The-Fridge-Raider will be updating and posting another one of these soon and we will do some more in the future. The holiday season is always hard on “fun” videos while we do things that actually make Walton’s money!

Just saw this on random. We used to go to a river restaurant for steak sandwiches. You got a NY strip on two pieces of french bread. Served with peanut butter and orange marmalade. With A1 and it was fantastic. Still will eat a steak sometimes with pb and marmalade.

Jonathon I would have thought so too, but I met a guy around here that has a food truck & he sells what he calls the Dothan Dog, a dog with peanut butter, & swears by it. I will have to try it some day I suppose. For now, I am very satisfied with mustard, Kraut, & onions or relish, of course chili on the right day is great too.

I would actually give that a try, at some local burger joints they have a peanut butter option, and some have a PB&J burger option.
