Are the tubed sheep cassings supposed have a pungent smell. I have used sheep cassings and never had them smell like this before.

Brian Schneider They do not smell good, I’ve thought I noticed a stronger smell from them than the Hog casings in the past but it was a long time ago. How bad? If they have actually spoiled it will smell ungodly bad.

Jonathon I was just wondering because I just got these with my order yesterday but the box was a bit squashed and the package the cassings are in was punctured and all the liquid spilled out. The smell is definitely there but it doesn’t make me gag. I emailed customer service to see if we should return them but I haven’t heard back yet

Joe Hell Yeah, maybe I have become so used to the hog casing smell that when I smelled something unpleasant but in a different way it stuck out more? Oh well Brian Schneider if they aren’t reeking they are fine. The spillage is an issue though but we are taking care of that through other means at the moment.
