I wanted to post and see if others have tried this but I like to smoke whole BBQ chickens and after cutting the bulk chicken meat off soaking the bones and reminders in a large pot of water for 2 hours. This makes a glorious smoked chicken broth that can be frozen or used right away for chicken noodle soup. Because the bone of the chickens are hollow the smoke flavor imparted to the water with the BBQ seasoning is wonderful.

I haven’t used the bones to make broth, but I have used smoked chicken for chicken noodle soup, chicken enchiladas, etc. and it is a great way to use smoked chicken, even if it is just leftover smoked chicken.

Riley Renwick put it in a pot and cook it with carrot, celery and onion in the pot to make a good broth then strain it and use the vegetables in a stew or other things

Riley Renwick I saved the bones from two pheasants I just did with the idea being that I would make a soup out of them. Don’t know if Pheasant noodle soup will be as good as chicken noodle soup but we will see soon!
