twilliams the grinder is actually an Orimas TBS-200 but it does look just like the taisin grinder pictured. I’ve seen this same model under a few different brand names here, I think all made in the same factory but just sold by different distributors who put there own badge on it.

Meat grinder issues -
Meat grinder issuesjohnsbrewhouse the bearing number is 620srs which is clearly available online for replacements. I’m no bearing expert but I would’ve thought that even if it’s a sealed bearing, that seal is never going to be very good and I’ll always have contamination issues from one batch to the next unless I change the bearing each time.

Meat grinder issuestwilliams and johnsbrewhouse thank you both, really appreciate your help! Its a shame about this grinder because it actually does a really good, fast and efficient job. At the end of the day, I just need it to be more hygienic. I think whatever bearing is in there, good quality food safe or cheap standard (as I think it came with off the shelf), once you add hot water and detergents and give it a scrub, it’s going to start to flush the packed grease out pretty quick and rust. I will either look at getting a custom bronze bush, which seems pretty difficult here, or I will splash and import something (LEM/Walton) from the US. Cheers.
