bocephus I will and thank you. And yes I’m a pretty proud dad. After the shot the first thing he said was he was glad I was in the stand with him. I almost melted. Great moment for me.

ND Mike thanks. We’re both smiling. We had 4 bucks on our hit list and managed to harvest all 4. I bet it never happens again. But it sure was nice to happen once.

cdavis I had 3 hit listers, the one my wife shot which I wouldn’t have minded seeing him next year. I shot one during bow season and absolutely kicking myself in the arse and completely disgusted in myself for shooting it. He needed 2 more years yet and another one I have not seen on cam since middle of October. So now I am questioning what am I gonna look forward to for bucks next year. Hopefully one moves in. But kinda thinking of scouting some deep public land.

cdavis that is awesome when everything lines up! You gotta love it when a plan comes together. I’m just hoping I draw a buck tag next year or a muzzleloader tag.

twilliams I’ve always had decent luck with another decent buck or two moving in in the late season after removing a buck or two. Hopefully it works out for you. I don’t know how your public land is but ours is really crowded and with alot of hunters I don’t trust to be around.

Several of us had some luck hunting Southwest Nebraska pheasants and quail yesterday. Bumped several nice mule deer bucks and a few coyotes while walking the canyons. I don’t know how many miles we logged but my feet and legs says its quite a few.

Great time getting together with some old and newer friends for this hunt and the gracious land owner who gave us permission to hunt his property. Really look forward to this every year.

HerbcoFood it is a strange year for weather in Oklahoma too. December and still in the upper 70s. I don’t ever remember it staying this warm this long.

ND Mike I hunt in Minnesota and it is nice because you can just buy a license and then in some areas you have to apply for an antlerless permit. In area my brothers and I bought some land we could buy two extra licenses, but they would have to tag antlerless deer. Good luck on next year’s draws.

bocephus thanks. When our deer population was at record high we could buy all the extra rifle tags you wanted. I always used to buy 2 extras for meat. I would use one in the rifle season and 1 in the muzzleloader season. That is when hunting was really fun!

Nebraska’s deer numbers seem to be stable. We can get two buck permits max, and several antlerless permits in most areas.
