ND Mike I used to love going out when I lived up north, couldn’t wait to get my house out on the river.
bocephus I hear ya. It is what I anticipate most. I love going out on 4 inches of clear ice and you can see the fish before it gets to the hole!

My pan sausage seasonings are in, pork butts are actually on sale this week but over the past few weeks pork sales price is now up to $1.49/lb, it’s not going to stop me naturally. I just need the time now to do it.

Not fishing yet but I bought something today to help me get on that early ice. I should be on the ice in 2 weeks hopefully.
ND Mike nice!!! I have been looking at maybe replacing my gas Jiffy with a battery powered one. No gas, oil, maintenance and lighter.

YooperDog I have a Jiffy propane auger I use when the ice is really thick. I still have an old Jiffy white model 30 too as a back up.

cdavis They come on for that price about every two to three months, I watch for them and hope I have freezer room at the time. Wish I had room for a small freezer that I could plug in when good sales come on meat.

Several of us had some luck hunting Southwest Nebraska pheasants and quail yesterday. Bumped several nice mule deer bucks and a few coyotes while walking the canyons. I don’t know how many miles we logged but my feet and legs says its quite a few.
Great time getting together with some old and newer friends for this hunt and the gracious land owner who gave us permission to hunt his property. Really look forward to this every year.

Several of us had some luck hunting Southwest Nebraska pheasants and quail yesterday. Bumped several nice mule deer bucks and a few coyotes while walking the canyons. I don’t know how many miles we logged but my feet and legs says its quite a few.
Great time getting together with some old and newer friends for this hunt and the gracious land owner who gave us permission to hunt his property. Really look forward to this every year.
processhead You always get good exercise while hunting pheasants but I do enjoy the chase.

The dogs are absolutely a bonus and we had some good ones along finding the birds. 3 pointing Griffons, a German Wirehair Pointer and my Black Lab, Beta.

Had the worst duck hunt of my life yesterday, I don’t get to get but maybe once a year. I saw 4 ducks total, only one came into the spread. I didn’t even pick up my gun, but it did get shot by three others, so it got tenderized. There was no wind and was foggy until 10 am.
