Cast iron cooking

GWG8541 Was thinking Lehman’s hardware and surrounding area. I believe it’s around Kidron and about 45 mins south of me.
zbigjeff you are correct, its in Kidron. It is awesome to visit, but evertime we go, we seem to buy something. My biggest problem in going to Amish Country is that my bathroom scale malfunctions everytime we go and says I’m 5 to 10 pounds heavier than I should be.

Well I finally got my Christmas present…

-
Tex_77 Looks like a sweet piece of CI
-
Tex_77 nice. I think I heard angels sing when I opened the picture of that skillet. Let me know how you like it.
-
Tex_77 Absolutely beautiful!

Always do my meatloaf in my mom’s old cast iron loaf pan anymore, comes out so much better. I don’t know where she got it, but I suspect it came from my grandmother,

johnsbrewhouse somehow I missed this, but that looks great.

Tex_77 Have fun with your new toy. I never saw that brand around here. Must be mail order only.

zbigjeff yup got it online, saw it on Kent Rollins YouTube channel.
-
Tex_77 It does look sweet and modern. Now, get going and season the heck out of it.
-
zbigjeff it came pre-seasoned, but i use Camp Chef Cast Iron Conditioner after every cook to keep the seasoning built up.
-
Tex_77 Let us know all about it, please. I looked at them hard and decided against one as I have enough ci already.

@dennyo You can never have to much, unless you ask my wife.
-
Tex_77 that is nice! Is it lighter weight like an old pan?
-
ND Mike It supposed to be, I need to weigh them tonight to compare.
-
Stargazer 6 pound 9.2oz. Lodge 7 pounds 9.4 oz.
So the Stargazer is a hair over a pound lighter than the Lodge.

ND MikeTex_77 thanks! I should weigh my old Griswold pan and see what it weighs.
-
ND Mike i was just thinking the same thing. I also have a Wagner, but believe the Gris is lighter
-
ND Mike also his Stargazer says it a 12 inch
-
GWG8541 yeah my Griswold is a 12.
