If I don’t I have my order history back to the beginning of time I don’t know what I will do!
-
I guess DIY /home processing customers will have to ask themselves what value the past order history brings to them. Personally, I’m not coming up with any good reasons to justify the added effort on Walton’s end, but I don’t claim to speak for everyone.
I can see the commercial customers needing it, though. -
There is some value for non commercial. With so many similar products, like casings, and home users maybe not ordering every month, it is easy to forget all the details you LEARNED to place your first correct order. Much better to think, “I liked the casings I got last xmas, let me click re-order on those”, instead of trying to remember if they were 16mm, 19mm, 17mm, smoke or clear, did I decide to 3 pack had most value and fit my batch or did I order the larger amount on those, wait each stick is longer than LEMS but fewer sticks, now I have to recalculate how many I need…etc.
What the heck name does Walton’s rebrand their cure1 as, that I now have to memorize? Was that Sure Gel? Sure something, now I have to go read product descriptions again, did they mix any stuff in with it that I don’t want?
For every…single… supply item. There is a reason companies want to see order history, and plenty of reasons individuals would too. To the point that it is included in 99.99% of all shopping cart customer account interfaces.
P.s. just got my account pw reset and logged into it from Waltons dot com, vs from Meatgistics app, and now my orders are showing up… my issue was meatgistics access vs. Password-reset-waltons-account access.

It’s handy to go back and see what I ordered from Amazon 8, 9 years ago, but then they sell a might larger variety of product classes.
Having said that-
Don’t do it. Everyone will be fine with 5 years of history. I know what I order from Waltons.peterb i might be thinking something different than you… I was responding to idea non commercial didnt need ANY order history. I’m fine with 5 yrs for sure, just not zero years.
I might also be confusing my call to customer service 15 min ago where it won’t let me log in to place order, but logs me in here fine with same account and password… her answer was make new account and I would lose all order history, and she told me the 31mar website lost my order history anyways…

Over the past week, I have been slowly importing order history for everyone dating back through 2017. There were so many orders, that it literally took days to process everything and a lot longer than I expected. I was not planning on importing orders to our new waltons.com website for anything older than 2017, but I can be convinced otherwise if the consensus is that more order history is needed or wanted. If you think you want to see more history, just let me know.
99.9% of order history dating back to 2017 has been imported (only a few hundred orders are not cooperating and wouldn’t import properly). If you are one of the users that value the visibility of order history, please let me know if you do not see everything that you expect to see. I can go back through and individually check on people’s accounts and what orders are there if you think you are missing some data.
And just a random side note… Make sure you check out the new blog page at waltons.com/blog every now and then. I just put a post out there and included a coupon code in it…
Austin Updating order history has always been something I avoided till one of the last projects because throughout the lifecycle, someone in the background ALWAYS changed something that was not documented. LOL You getting that high of a percentage is admirable. I’m thinking many teams in organizations have always settled on 5 years and handle more than that with customer service. In my experience, there’s only around 1% that want it back further than that and it’s usually for a warranty issue. Yep, it will turn out to be that ONEOFF. Glad you’re smiling.

Austin I wanted to send a information request last night. When I went to the contact page it had order numbers before the subject line. Is it possible to add a “not order related” or something similar. It probably did not affect the reciever of the text, but it might be a good option for the sender.

I dont remember what I had for breakfast, so if I dont know what I ordered 6 years ago, I will be ok. Very nice job on all you guys have done. Congratulations

I just added up how much I have spent at Walton’s through order history. Yikes! Please remove this feature
