What are you hunting/fishing?

Did some ice fishing in South Dakota with my brother and some friends last week. I am not an ice-fisherman or even much of a fisherman.
This is a shameless plug for the two guys in the second picture http://www.sdelitefishing.com/that got us on a good perch bite over the two days we were fishing on the glacier lakes near Watertown.

processhead Those perch will be delicious. I just went through Watertown Thursday, unfortunately couldn’t stop to fish, looks like it would have been a good time.

ND Mike We still have plenty of ice here, but the end is on the horizon. Looks like a relaxing day.
YooperDog it really was. The ice was still about 2 ft thick but we loose are shorelines pretty fast when it warms up with the wind. My brother is going to give it a try again today.

processhead I bet that was fun. Looks like some crappie in there too! Perch is one of my favorites to eat.

Yes the first day we got into some nice crappie and one walleye.
We were drilling holes in 30 inch ice, but the guides said they were shutting it down after one more week after looking at the weather forecasts. -

processhead There’s some very good eating to be done from that table. Believe the girls were happy to get rid of you guys for a bit while you had fun in the COLD. Thinking everyone had some fun on both sides of that arrangement.

processhead How was the water clarity? For a fish that doesn’t get as long as it’s cousin “Walley” some really nice filets can come from them!

Water quality was very good on Waubay. Clear, pale green water.

Ya can’t not like a Great perch bite!! I was into a great one on Leach Lake MN 22 years ago!
6 of us in 3 boats drifting over the cabbage and back again inside of 3 hours 85 ish perch smallest was just short of 11". Scouts Honor! (and yes I am!)Denny O’s-Smokey Bones

Schultz from MN, to this day says that a perch that I drooped into his coat hood hung in his coat rack after we all got home,. He said he couldn’t figure out where the stench came from for a year!! Well that is his story.
Ain’t that what memories and the stories of past memories are to be made from???
