So I had this happen today. It is fun coming up with exactly 2000 grams. It did work and my scale is back to normal.

Grimpuppy Maybe I will go to a tire shop and get some of their wheel weights for balancing tires and weigh them out while scale is working and melt them down to form a weight.

bocephus As a Metrology Engineer, I recommend having a reference std on hand of a known value!

Ridley Acres Just make sure you adjust for the weight of your container!

Ridley Acres I was going to try and get set up with a standard before I had any trouble with the scale, then I would have it ready.

Looking back on it, I could have filled the jug in the middle with water till I got to 2000 grams instead of adding all the other things.
