I think I am changing my game of choice. Just been stung 2X by a frickin’ hornet. Same hornet, each hand, payback is coming.

YooperDog I love killing them with a pocket knife, those suckers sure crunch pretty loud!

YooperDog 2x by a hornet. Definitely not pleasant. I thought that getting bit by a number of jackets was bad until a hornet showed up under a pant leg one day. Ouch Ouch Ouch

zbigjeff Had that experience as well except the little b*stard went down my shirt and got into the back of my shorts. Stung me all the way down. Totally unprovoked attack. I got even, they lost two large ground nests in one day.

johnsbrewhouse Ground nests are nasty. The Ground around them actually buzzes.

zbigjeff That’s is them cooling the nest, it really buzzes when you hit them with them hornet spray them cover it. Fortunately I have no allergies to stings, so I approach their nests pretty close when it comes time for the kill. I dig out their nests as well. The crows feast on them.

While returning some items I borrowed for my hip rehab (bath bench, walker, etc) to a bud’s sister, we sat there and saw 3 bucks walk across his front and back yard. According to the people sitting around the table, they were an 8, 12 & 14 point. The 12 & 14 were very good size. 2 of the people were avid hunters and trembling. Hoping all you people had a chance to feast your eyes on something that nice and bring it home. I was recharging my phone at the time. Thus, no pics.

                The pay-off.
This afternoon I arrowed this guy. He did me the courtesy of going down within sight of my stand. Since I am colorblind and a poor blood trailer, this really helps out.

processhead good deal. My sons are colorblind and have to call the old man to blood track for them. I have always told them to make sure of their shots, because the old man may not always be around to track for them. They listened pretty good. Since they have been hunting by themselves, they have never had to make that call. I guess its a real incentive for shot placement. Glad you harvested one.

It is kind of hard to explain. I can see blood on a light background like snow pretty well.

When the red blood is on a green or brown background like normal leaves and vegetation, it just turns brown and is hard to pick out from the back ground.

If there is enough of it, I can see it shine while it’s still wet, but if there is dew or rain, it all looks the same.

processhead we skinned out a buck one year that was a fighting fool. He had a puss filled sore under his eye. He broke 3 tines. When we rolled the skin off his neck we found a 4 inch long broken tine in his neck muscles from another buck! Tough animals!!!

Gotta brag on my 12 year old son. Got his first bowkill ever this morning. He did it by himself cause I was hunting another property. He’s been hunting this buck since October 1st. He passed on alot of smaller bucks waiting for this guy and it paid off. I’m so proud of him to finally show that patience. He did shoot him a little too far back but he only went about 100 yards. I really enjoyed teaching him and my daughter how to follow a blood trail. It was a great day. 20211114_075158.jpg 20211114_081711.jpg
