I think it’s time to put on my Engineering cap and come up with a hack for reverse on these mixers. Should take a couple dpdt switches and elective surgery. 🤔

It’s been a while, but if it uses a split phase motor with a centrifugal switch in the start winding circuit, you can add the switch there to reverse the motor.

processhead they make a all in one motor reverse switch. But it would take a 6 conductors power cord

Grimpuppy Reverse feature on a grinder is useful on those rare occasions when a grinder jams or stalls on a chunk of fat.

processhead I find reverse is very valuable when a mixer is attached. Especially when making a small batch in a BIG mixer. The reverse feature helps pull the meat back into the middle from the edges.

Agree. A power mixer needs forward and reverse controls.

Ok, how to enjinear that forwards and backwards control into a handmixer???😲

smokinbubba I have a #25 LEM mixer. I have been running options through my head on how to do it. I got a couple ideas but haven’t really dove into it much yet. It has a stuffing speed that is slow and grinding speed that is faster. Need to check rpm on stuffing speed to see if it is slow enough for a direct drive.
