OMG!!! You should honor grandma and post a recipe with her name attached for prosperity in the Recipe Section. Your picture transported me back 45 years. Still remember the smell of lard and taste the soaked fried goodness in the crumby cake donut matrix

When she made them she made a bunch, had a big square Tupperware container that she filled and put in the freezer. It didn’t last as long as she thought it should.

We would elbow each other just to get to them first. She’s been gone a long time. Haven’t had any since. She used lard. Probably why they were so good.
