Pork belly was $4.49 a pound and Costco’s name brand bacon was $4.19 a pound. Thats just crazy. The hunt continues for a decent priced pork belly.

My local one is such a freaking joke in the meat selection compared to H-E-B. Thankfully I live in the middle of a Kroger and H-E-B, each of them 1 mile away from my house.

I was just saying to my son that I remember smoking two flats for him to take to work the Labor Day weekend of 2019. I paid 99 cents a pound since it was supposed to be the whole price, but they were out and gave me flats for the sale price. Times have changed drastically.

An old man can dream. Remember brisket for $0.99 and on special for $0.79 - it wasn’t that long ago.

I did find brisket at my local Walmart - $1.97. Ungraded, but then again smoking for as long as we do for brisket, most people wouldn’t know the difference.
