<![CDATA[Black Forest Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake]]>I had a request to put this here. This can be made in a camp dutch oven with charcoal or in a regular oven at home! Super easy! 2 cans cherry pie filling, 1 box chocolate cake mix, 1 cup chocolate chips ( or more to your liking), and cherry coke. Pour the cans of pie filling in dutch oven and spread out. Put chocolate chips evenly on top of cherries. Mix in a can of cherry coke with the dry cake mix blending well so no dry clumps. I added about another 2 ounces to get the consistency I wanted. Pour on top of cherries and chocolate chips and smooth out. I added four small pats of butter just because…lol! Cook 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean from the top cake layer.

If I am even doing soda I would prefer Coke most of the time, which is not much, very, very little. Otherwise, Buffalo Rock is my hands down favorite. It just has that kick that none of the others have any more & the right ingredients are there too. That would probably be too much for this recipe though, but I thought the Pepper would have that flavor twist to it that might do it right.

It was the only cherry flavored soda I had camping this summer, so rather than driving 7 miles for a Cherry Coke, I improvised. I’ve made it both ways and both were good, but if you like Dr. Pepper, definitely give it a shot. ND Mike has added some inches to everyone’s waistline by posting this recipe.
