Between bacon, bbq, fresh sausages, smoked sausages I always found myself wishing I have a slightly different sized bag. Like I did my andouille as 9-10" links but filling a 8x12 bag was way too many so went for some 6x15" to better fit. Now these bags will be part of any inheritance I leave. LOL

Under 400. Works really well much better than foodsaver style. So far I’ve only found that bags end up being smaller than you need. Example-a 8x10 bag sounds big but does not hold enough. IMO buy bigger bags than you need. Also since you can use foodsaver rolls you can make longer bags is needed. All in all I love this chamber vacuum sealer

We do a few hundred pounds of sausages, around 100 pounds of bacon and a couple hundred pounds of salmon every year. So far no issues. Just change the oil. We also make large amounts of BBQ beans and various meat sauces and seal them too. One of the most important things to consider is the bags that you use. I recommend going to a local butcher supply and see what quality of bags they have to offer instead of buying the “cheapo’s” from Amazon. The bags can make quite a difference too. If you are mostly sealing “dryer” food types like jerky snack sticks cheese and so on you will be just fine. We make alot of our own “snack packs” for the kids to munch on through the year. Works great for those.

It is definitely slower. I only used for some leftover pulled pork but will say it seems to pull a much better vacuum than my VacMaster 350. I think a bag of 12oz of pulled pork took 50 seconds.

How fast does it seal. I’ve heard that style is slower than a traditional vac sealer

It works quite well. At some point down the road I would like to invest in a more robust machine…but until that days comes this one seems to hanging in there! What you really need to watch out for is working with very moist or wet items and especially liquids. Watch your pump oil and change it a few times a year depending on how much you use it. Oil is cheap and one issue with this unit is that repair parts can be hard to find.
