Had other propane grills and charcoal, the infrared grills are like charcoal without the benefits of the coals and we don’t have the direct flame like other propane grills. I tried grilling with the Traeger, but got hungry waiting for things to cook and it’s just not the same as the grill, it’s my smoker for low and slow. The Pacific NW weather doesn’t always allow us much time to BBQ outside without shelter, thus my covered 3 seasons deck with windows for year round entertainment.

Pellet grills have their place, but cooking steak is not one of them. You mention how much more work it is to use the PK Grill, and cool down time etc, but what are you going to do with your pellet grill when there is a power failure? Or you run out of pellets? With the PK Grill if you run out of charcoal, you can just go out and cut your neighbors tree down and you will be good to go again. Now since I know you think your pellet cooked steaks are superior, why don’t you enter Walton’s PK Steak cookoff, with the stipulation you aren’t allowed to win anything, but you can still see where your steak ranks versus all the steaks that will be cooked on a PK Grill!
