<![CDATA[Vintage Morton Brine Pump Sees The Light Of Day]]>I was sorting through my box of processing supplies and found this relic from the past that I have never used, but still keep around for some reason.

It is a Morton Meat Pump and I believe was marketed by Morton Salt Co. for use with their Morten Tender Quick home curing product.

For home processers, it was the tool to use for stitch pumping hams, or other cuts of meat at a time before there were other suppliers out there for do-it-yourself processors.

Its made of chrome plated brass and is pretty decent quality.

I have a collection of pumps that appeared to be good until you use them. I use the Walton’s hand pump and haven’t had any issues as long as you put it back together correctly after cleaning it

What dates mine as pretty old, and also the reason I don’t use it, is the fact the internal seals are made of leather!
