<![CDATA[Spring Archery Turkey Hunt]]>My hunting buddy and I doubled-down on toms this morning. He made an early shot on his bird but made a bad hit and thought he had lost it as it ran off.
45 minutes later I got a shot at another tom from a different blind and it thankfully went down quickly.
Later while we were searching for his wounded tom on the ground, I happened to glance up in a tree and saw a turkey perched about 30 feet in the air.
I flagged down my buddy and he could see it had a wounded leg. He was able to get a second arrow into the tom and successfully brought him down.
We had noticed a coyote near by about the time I shot my bird. It kind of made sense that wounded tom wanted get up off the ground and avoid the coyote.

I get more excited when they get one than they do. I have taken many youth hunters over the years for both deer and turkey and I love every minute of it. My 8 yr old neighbor boy stopped last night and wondered when we were going fishing since I was done turkey hunting.

I’ve never taken a multi bearded bird so extra congrats on that one. My 11 year old took his first bird a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say it was a great day for both of us. Shot some with doubles but this is the best multiple bearded bird.

After it opens the text entry box, click the photo attach symbol shown by the red arrow in the the attached screen shot. Then you can select the picture file you want to insert into your reply.
