Been researching this for the last year or so. Sounds really interesting. Looking at a portable unit to offset the old electric range/stove. Just bought some new cookware to replace an age old set of T-Fal. Nice thing was, it’s induction compatible and oven safe as well. Win win!
Thoughts, comments are welcome. Thanks.

Needed an edit here. It’s a bit of a stretch from our normal topics but will this somehow be applied to a smokehouse? Time will tell.

Have not. Looked at one again last weekend but didn’t like the price. Local store. I know I can get one online but like to shop local if possible. They’ll run a sale sooner or later.

It just seems perfect for that. Relatively small and light, and the Amazon one is something like $60.

<bdi>tarp</bdi> Unless you are looking for something a good deal larger, you’re best bet on a pressure cooker is an Instant Pot or similar electric pressure cooker. I was a little skeptical of the Instant Pot at first, but I’ve been sold on it for some time.

Thanks for the comments. Will probably pick up a portable one to check this out. An old friend was all into this type of cooking.

It’s fast to heat and great temp control. Yes only skillets and pots that a magnetic can stick to work on these. The good old cast iron are great. Still having trouble finding a good pressure cooker that will work on it though.

They work well, you just have to make sure the pots/pans you are using are compatible. There are some high-end brands such as Thermador that sell full size cooktops that the entire surface of the cooktop can be used for induction.
