You can buy the cheaper rubber ones and replace them regularly, or see if you can find some Viton or Nitrile ones, they are designed for the extra heat and will last a long time.

Then you have to use link and the cloud if you want to leave your home network range. Doesn’t sound like its seamless integration switching between connection type.

Unless you’re deadset on wireless, I’d go with a Fireboard, it will have more functionality at about the same price point
