Plus they break up easier without grinding</p>

The reason being that they are packed with juice (obviously) and that might make cook times really long, they will rehydrate in the meat a little and wont slow down your cook as much.  I wouldn’t grind themas they have a pretty low pH depending on when they are picked, between 4-5 so it might denature your proteins if too much is introduced.</p>
