I have a weird noise coming from the driverside wheel well and I already had the CV joint and sleeve replaced so it is not that. My Mechanic (who I do trust) said he thinks it is something with the caliper locking and the brakes are a bit spongy as well. Wants $500 to fix but that might NOT be the issue. It seems to happen more when I am turning, or even just going around a corner to the right-hand side. I’m fine replacing thermocouples and belts and things like this but I have never messed with brakes before. I would gladly pay the $500 if I knew it would fix it but it seems more like this is just a guess. Any thoughts?

Sometimes the the rubber brake line going to the caliper will start collapsing.
Which will cause the caliper to lock up or to have spongy brakes.
The spongy brakes is the line actually growing when the pressure is being applied through the line.
I have had happened on a couple of different rigs.

We replaced a stuck brake caliper a few months ago but that wasn’t it. He said it still needs the master cylinder replaced. It is happening now occasionally when I am driving straight but it seems to stop when I accelerate or brake so I am wondering if it isn’t something that has come loose and is just flapping. I tried to get my wife to agree to let me drive over here so she could check but in her typical selfish fashion she said no!
