<![CDATA[New Livestream]]>Hi guys, Austin and I have been kicking around the idea of a weekly Meatgistics Livestream. The idea behind it would be to take 1 specific meat processing topic and go over it in depth. We’d like to tie in the topic to something that has been discussed on meatgistics recently but that won’t necessarily always be the case. We would like to start out on things we are “experts” on and not things we would have to do a good amount of research on. So, I have a few questions, is there an audience for this, would people watch? And if so, what weekday day would work best, it can’t be Monday’s because those are very busy days and it can’t be Friday’s because we already have the podcast that day. I created the poll below so we can easily see what days would work best. Let us know and if there is an audience for this we will do it but we are going to try it at least for a few weeks to see if it catches on!

I had an accounting professor that never allowed them in any of his courses he taught. Taught you to think about things and not just be a number cruncher.

If it were to get a lot of follow up views to me that is almost as good as someone joining us for the Livestream itself. These would be more sober events anyway as we would have a clear message for meat processing, the livestreams for the giveaways tend to meander here and there as we drink!

If you happen to do it in the morning, either Tuesday or Wednesday are equally good.

There will , and always have been the distractions of the modern age ("those dman Neanderthals and their fire "). But people always found a way to have good marriages, raise good families, be good friends. A common denominator was a strong faith, a belief in the good in your fellow man, and a desire to be a better person. The call to go back to a day “before technology” discounts the value that technology has brought to our health and quality of life. the thing of technology, it Achilles heel, is that it can simply be “unplugged” …DO you like the way I slipped the word damn passed the censors!

I broke all the rules & took Calculus & Engineering Physics II at the same time. You are not supposed to do that & it is against the rules, but for some odd reason or another, the let me do it. I am one of those get it done type folks I suppose. I normally expected A’s & B’s out of myself. Best pair of C’s I ever had in my life! I never made it technically to grad school, just got the five year professional Architecture degree which was about 180 hours. Some schools call it a master now. That was more than enough of all that for me. Then of course, we haven’t even got to those pesky CEs.

My High School Physics class required slide rule proficiency. In Chemical Engineering Grad School at the University of Alabama, every course was graded on the curve, typically an ‘A’ was near 25%. on one test, two of my classmates scored in the 90’s. Teacher wouldn’t move from the curve. They had the HP 41 CV had chips to solve fluid flow, massive electrical matrix, and just about anything you could imagine. The rest of us scraped every penny we could to get one before the next test.

Yes, I remember when I was in junior high school algebra & I had this old calculator I had acquired & wanted to use it, the teacher liked to cut my head off! These days you are in trouble if you do not have one & mine was just basic. Then I remember when I got my first scientific calculator, I think it was in the mid to late 70’s. I think it was a TI-30 & cost nearly $300.00, but came in a nice Denim case.

My dad was one of the designers of the first stage of the Saturn V. (for those too young to know, the spacecraft that took men to the moon). He did so with a slide rule. I still have it in my office today. Massive mathematical tables. There was no such thing as a calculator. It’s amazing just what one can accomplish when you want to (and not find excuse why we can’t).

It just depends on my schedule on any given week. The past few weeks we have been totally & completely swamped.
