It is interesting how how life has come full circle from watching ‘the old people’ in my family making foods based on the seasons, moving on to convenience food and now back doing what they did and wishing they would have written down more recipes and I asked more questions. It has been an great learning adventure especially when you nail the recipe that brings back memories.

Meats prices are up a bit and some are in limited supply. I went out earlier and bought butts and bellies before the craziness. I just need to replenish some casings and seasonings, but I can stay busy with what I have on hand. I still need to get some cold smoking done before the temperatures get to warm and in the middle of sugar season. No time to sit around here, plenty to do plus the the ol’ honey do list. Just need to stay away from all the craziness.
