I saved a old heavy duty General model “D” grinder out of my friends barn. I have used it several times and it is a beast!! But I Just noticed that there Is no washer or bushing that goes on the Auger shaft. I can see that the brass insert that is inside of the auger holder Is bright and shiny which tells me it is wearing out. I was just curious what is in on all of your augers and where I could get one if needed. The auger shaft has a 0.74“ OD
I just want this grinder to last.

The plate is sticking out past the notch. I would assume the fiber ones will be as thick also. Going to try the Nylon bucket lid trick.

The brass will get polished up while doing it’s job. I’m sure a nylon one will work fine if it’s the same thickness.
