I thought it would be a good way to make room in the freezer for sausage!</p>

If you were looking to add a butter flavor then the <a href="https://www.waltonsinc.com/butter-flavored-seasoning-marinade" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Butter Flavored Seasoning</a> is a good one to inject.  For most of the injectable marinades, you don’t need to add additional sodium phosphate as it will already be present in the necessary quantities but if you were making a homemade marinade I would suggest sodium phosphate for sure.</p>

I would suggest rubbing the bird with softened butter on top and under loosened skin prior to roasting. This is a good time to add fresh sage, thyme and rosemary as well.</p>

I’ve been contemplating that.</p>

I used the ‘Disney’ turkey leg recipe found online. They are good after crisping on the grill after smoking but they do really well in something like a pot of beans in place of ham hocks!</p>

Turkey never lasts long in my house but I do believe I have two drumsticks hanging out somewhere in my freezer, I might just have to find them tonight!</p>
